Product Repair Description

We offer a repair service for a 2005 or 2006 2.3L four-cylinder Mazda Tribute PCM (Power Control Module) or ECM (Engine Control Module) damaged by failed ignition coils. The PCM is also referred to as the ECU (Engine Control Unit), or simply as the engine computer.

This PCM failure is the most common problem with the Mazda Tribute PCM/ECM and is indicated by one or more of the following diagnostic trouble codes: P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354. We also repair these PCMs for transmission error codes P0750, P0755, P0758 and Oxygen Sensor (O2) codes, P0141, or P0161. When the transmission codes are present, the vehicle will not shift past 2nd gear, and the overdrive light will flash continuously. The Oxygen Sensor engine codes will cause a check engine light to appear.

**If the PCM has been damaged by a faulty coil pack, then the coil pack must be changed at the same time as the PCM.  Based on extensive experience with these computers, we strongly recommend a genuine Motorcraft coil pack.  There are counterfeit coils on the market that claim to be Motorcraft, so be sure to order from an authorized Ford/Motorcraft distributor.  We have several sources that we can recommend for these coils. Please contact us at 800-547-2049 for recommendations.**

Our rebuild service is the easiest ways to get back on the road and the ONLY ways to avoid a trip to the dealership.

  • There is NO PROGRAMMING REQUIRED!
  • Your existing keys WILL work upon re-installation.
  • Each PCM is run on an actual vehicle before it leaves our repair facility.
